Craig Melvin’s Admission on ‘Today’ Shocks Dylan Dreyer

Dreyer seemingly wasn’t prepared for the comment.

Craig Melvin mentioned a little-known detail about Dylan Dreyer, and his comment may have come as a surprise to some—including his co-host, herself.

On the Friday, May 30 episode of the Today show, the two TV news personalities were joined on the Third Hour by singer Sebastián Yatra to discuss his new album, Milagro. In honor of his new project, he showed off a fresh tattoo on his foot, revealing it to viewers on-air of the broadcast.

In response, Melvin admitted that while he doesn’t have any tattoos, himself, Dreyer does. “Dylan has a tattoo,” he playfully exposed.

“I do,” the meteorologist replied, which prompted Craig—who recently stepped into Hoda Kotb‘s spot on the program following her retirement—to attempt to get his co-host to “show it” on-air. Seemingly a bit taken aback by the request, she said, “I can’t show it right now, I’m wearing a one piece,” referencing her black jumpsuit outfit.

“It’s a great tat,” Melvin confirmed, though the mom-of-three didn’t seem so convinced of her body art choice. “It’s a hideous tat; nobody needs to see it,” she said as she brushed past the conversation, attempting to move on.

Make no mistake, though, the conversation seemed to be all in good fun, as the cohosts often amuse each other during the show about different topics that arise.

Though the tattoo news may have come as a surprise to some, diehard Today fans know it’s not the first time Dreyer’s body ink was revealed. During a Halloween episode where the meteorologist dressed up as P!nk, she put the large body marking—which looks to be a dragon—on full display in a hot pink bodysuit and glitzy tights ensemble.
