THE View’s Joy Behar has revealed she suffered a gruesome injury that caused her to miss several episodes of the talk show.
Joy, 83, returned to the panel on Friday and explained that her absence was due to her breaking her toe.

The TV star said she dropped her iPad on her toe, before propping her bandaged right foot on the table for all to see.
Joy then shared that the incident was “very painful” and wouldn’t recommend anyone do the same.
She also joked that her co-star, Sunny Hostin, had tried to encourage her to get a larger iPad weeks earlier, and she was glad she hadn’t done so.
Sunny then shared that she offered to have her husband, Emmanuel Hostin, who is an orthopedic surgeon, look at Joy’s foot upon hearing about her accident, but the comedian declined.
However, Joy did send a photo of her broken toe to Sunny, who confirmed that it looked severely hurt and bruised.
Their co-star, Alyssa Farah Griffin, then asked whether Joy should have a cast on her injured foot, which the host revealed she was picking up today.
Alyssa also teased Joy about not coming into work for several days due to the injury, after the ABC star missed the entire week of shows.
Joy seemed to ignore Alyssa’s comment but laughed when Ana Navarro jokingly suggested that she enlist actor Matthew McConaughey‘s help with her recovery, referencing a September 2023 episode when he gave Joy a foot massage live on air.
Fans were thrilled to see Joy back on-screen after expressing concern about her whereabouts for the last few days.
Joy is usually off on Mondays, but when she didn’t show up on Tuesday, viewers wondered where she could be.
Moderator Whoopi Goldberg explained that she was “out” and would “hopefully” be back the following day, which didn’t end up being the case.
Whoopi later revealed that Joy had hurt her foot and promised viewers that she’d eventually return.
Joy did, however, send Whoopi lasagna for her 70th birthday, despite not being able to attend the on-air celebration.
In the meantime, Joy’s co-stars, including Whoopi, Sunny, Ana, Alyssa, and Sara Haines, held down the fort.
