JUST IN: “PUT HIM TO SLEEP — NOW.” Tr.u.mp erupts in 1AM Christmas tirade demanding CBS pull Colbert off the air immediately after rerun of brutal Kennedy Center monologue New York City — Donald Trump wasn’t waiting until May. Not after CBS re-aired a Stephen Colbert monologue that mocked Trump’s hosting of the Kennedy Center Honors — and not after the president decided, in the early hours of Christmas week, that late-night TV has become less comedy and more full-time political warfare. So at around 1AM, Trump detonated. And his message to CBS was as direct as it was vicious: Pull the plug. Now.
D0nald Tr..u.mp demanded CBS pull the plug on Stephen Colbert ‘NOW’ as opposed to next May after the network re-aired a December 8 monologue that panned his hosting of The Kennedy Center Honors.
‘Stephen Colbert is a pathetic trainwreck, with no talent or anything else necessary for show business success,’ Trump fumed in the first of several messages Wednesday directly after the rerun aired.
‘Now, after being terminated by CBS, but left out to dry, he has actually gotten worse, along with his nonexistent ratings.
‘Stephen is running on hatred and fumes ~ A d3ad man walking! CBS should, “put him to sleep,” NOW, it is the humanitarian thing to do!’
Trump posted again just minutes later to ask, ‘Who has the worst Late Night host, CBS, ABC, or NBC???
‘They all have three things in common: High Salaries, No Talent, REALLY LOW RATINGS!’
Not long after, the conservative posted once again – this time to suggest CBS could have its broadcast license terminated due to Colbert being ‘almost 100% Negative to President Donald J. Trump, MAGA, and the Republican Party.’
Trump concluded with a curt, ‘MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!’, posting around 1am.

The first of several early morning messages targeting the CBS host Wednesday
A few hour earlier, CBS aired the Kennedy Center Honors ceremony, which was hosted by Trump himself.
Do YOU think Colbert is funny?
Yes
No
Colbert, on December 8, took aim at the arrangement.
At the top of the show, the host played footage of Trump expressing worry about ‘how people will judge his hosting’ job.
‘Jimmy Kimmel was horrible,’ he said in the clip. ‘If I can’t beat out Jimmy Kimmel in terms of talent, then I don’t think I should be president.’
Colbert chimed in: ‘You can’t and you shouldn’t.’
He went on to point out that Kimmel ‘has never hosted the Kennedy Center Honors,’ eliciting a laugh from the audience.
‘But here’s the thing: I did, the three years leading up to Trump becoming president,’ Colbert went on, also panning Trump for receiving a ‘fake’ inaugural FIFA Peace Prize award earlier in the week.
‘This year’s Kennedy Center Honors ceremony is the very first since Trump installed himself as chair of the Kennedy Center’s board,’ Colbert said.

CBS announced this summer that Colbert’s show would be ending in May for ‘financial’ reasons – a development Trump celebrated on Truth Social.
Colbert, on a broadcast in July, responded by telling the president, ‘Go f**k yourself,’ with the f-word censored.
Colbert’s competitor at ABC, Kimmel was briefly pulled from the air not long after, after FCC boss Brendan Carr told conservative podcaster Benny Johnson the host could face a probe for his comments about Charlie Kirk.
At the time, Carr urged ABC affiliates to stop airing Kimmel’s show, which returned the following week and has not been cancelled. He recently signed a one-year contract extension.
Colbert has yet to announce any future plans.
