Jimmy Kimmel roasted D.o.nald T.ru.mp in a new monologue after the president’s apparent meltdowns over reporters asking questions he does not like. Just hours after the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate voted in favor of releasing the Epstein files, Kimmel quipped: “Trump is not a happy little meal right now. Every time he gets asked about Jeffrey Epstein, he loses his mind.”
The late night house then cut to the a viral clip of Trump pointing at a female reporter while on Air Force One and telling her: “Quiet, pi.g.gy.”
Popular on Variety
“He called her pi.g.gy,” Kimmel said. “He said ‘Quiet, pi.g.gy’ to a reporter and it barely made the news… If a man spoke like that to a female coworker in a workplace harassment training video, you’d go, ‘Ah, that’s over the top. Nobody would do that.’ If the pilot on Air Force One behaved like the president, he wouldn’t be allowed to fly the plane.”
Kimmel also called out Trump’s fiery reaction to questions asked at the White House by ABC News’ Mary Bruce. She asked the president about the murder of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi given Trump’s press event with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Bruce also asked Trump about the Epstein files, to which he fired back by calling her a “terrible reporter” and telling ABC that “your crappy company, is one of the perpetrators… I think the license should be taken away from ABC because your news is so fake and it’s so wrong. And we have a great commissioner, the chairman, who should look at that.”
Trump was likely referring to FCC chairman Brendan Carr, who played a big role in Kimmel’s suspension in September. Kimmel reacted to Trump’s threat by saying: “I don’t know, the last time your FCC guy looked at that didn’t go so great for you.”
As Variety previously reported, Kimmel earned record ratings when he returned to ABC following his suspension. With 6.3 million viewers, it was the most watched regular episode in Kimmel’s history (excluding special Sunday episodes following big events like the Oscars).
