Metcalf’s physical confrontation with a Lions fan will see him miss the rest of the season. He received a two-game suspension.

The NFL termed it “conduct detrimental” to the league. It also may have voided at least $45 million in DK’s guaranteed money. Metcalf would still be able to earn that money over the next two years.

The Lions fan was only ejected after the confrontation. However, more may be coming his way.

Adam Schefter of ESPN relayed that his conduct is still under review by the NFL. The league will also be in touch with the Lions regarding the fan code of conduct. That is due to new information told them by DK Metcalf during his appeal.

He appealed the suspension, but it was upheld on Tuesday. The suspension will cost Metcalf $277,778 per game, or $555,556 in total salary. It also voided $45 million in future guaranteed money.

With a 9-6 record entering Week 17, the Pittsburgh Steelers were riding high after Sunday. Now they have to figure out how to win without DK Metcalf. The Pittsburgh Steelers have a straightforward path to the AFC North title and playoffs.

Their path to the playoffs is to defeat the Browns on Sunday at Huntington Bank Field. They can clinch a playoff berth and the AFC North title. Win that game, and their final matchup means nothing.

Eagle’s Super Bowl LIX ring got sold.

The first Super Bowl LIX ring to go up for auction has already sold. It went for $124,440, according to Darren Rovell. The sale caught attention because the ring did not belong to a star player. The ring belonged to Laekin Vakalahi, a former Philadelphia Eagles practice squad player.

Vakalahi is 22 and from Auckland, New Zealand. He spent last season with the Eagles but never played in an NFL game. Still, the team gave him a Super Bowl ring after its February win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Vakalahi put the ring up for sale just weeks after getting married in Utah. He shared a post online about starting a new chapter in his life. “Sealed to my sweetheart for time and all eternity,” he wrote.“What a blessing.”

Vakalahi’s journey to the NFL began far from Philadelphia. He grew up in Melbourne, Australia, where he played basketball and earlier competed in junior rugby league. His path changed after a chance meeting with former NFL lineman Chris Naeole, who was working as an international scout for the Eagles. That meeting helped open the door to an NFL opportunity.

The Eagles signed Vakalahi to their practice squad for the 2024 season. At 6-foot-5, he had potential but never played in a regular-season game. He later signed a reserve contract in February 2025, but the Eagles waived him during final roster cuts in August. His NFL run ended before it really got started.

Even so, the Super Bowl ring got it’s own value. Vakalahi chose to sell it, and history shows he is not alone. Former Steelers star Rocky Bleier sold his ring during financial hardship. Plaxico Burress also sold his Giants ring, and Josh Gordon later auctioned his Patriots ring as well.

Fans shared mixed reactions online after news of the sale broke.

“He did the right thing selling it,” one fan wrote on X. “What does the ring mean to him?”

Another fan predicted future value of Vakalahi’s ring. “He is going to regret the decision. Unless he is in need of cash immediately,” they wrote.

The Eagles earned their second Super Bowl title with the win over Kansas City. One ring now sits with a private collector. Another story sits behind it.
