The Messy singer took to social media to announce the sad news to her fans
British vocalist Lola Young has revealed she will be taking an extended break from performing, cancelling all scheduled shows following her onstage collapse during a New York festival appearance on Saturday.
The 24-year-old performer announced on Tuesday evening that she would be stepping away from public appearances indefinitely to focus on her personal wellbeing.
“I’m going away for a while. It pains me to say I have to cancel everything for the foreseeable future,” Ms Young wrote on Instagram.
The singer assured ticket holders they would receive complete reimbursements for cancelled performances, expressing hope that audiences would welcome her return after taking time to recuperate.

Ms Young’s medical emergency occurred whilst performing her track Conceited at the All Things Go Music Festival at Forest Hills Stadium. Video footage showed the artist swaying before falling backwards during Saturday’s performance.
Following the incident, she reassured supporters through social media: “Hi, for anyone who saw my set at All Things Go today, I am doing OK now. Thank you for all of your support, Lola xxx.”
The health scare led to the immediate cancellation of her scheduled Sunday appearance at the festival’s Washington DC venue.
Ms Young acknowledged disappointing ticket holders, stating: “I’m so sorry to let anyone down who has bought a ticket to see me, it hurts me more than you know.”
Following her decision to cancel her upcoming shows, several fans rushed to send their well wishes on social media, including a number of famous faces.
Strictly Come Dancing star Vicky Pattison wrote on Instagram: “Look after yourself angel… we’ll all be here when you get back.”
“God bless you !! We support and love you,” singer Teddy Swims added before Celebrity Big Brother finalist Danny Beard commented: “We love you Miss Lola.”
“Well deserved rest,” US TV personality Trisha Paytas weighed in before actress Lily Collins reached out: “Sending so much support and light your way. So brave if you. There’s never a rush only a need to show up for yourself.”

The performer has previously been candid about her mental health challenges, revealing in 2022 that she had received a schizoaffective disorder diagnosis and later discovered she also has ADHD.
Her management team had already implemented protective protocols before Saturday’s incident.
A Friday performance at New Jersey’s Prudential Centre was cancelled, with her manager explaining: “Lola is very open about her mental health and there are very occasionally days where myself and my team have to take protective measures to keep her safe.”

Before collapsing, Ms Young had addressed the New York audience about her recent struggles, telling them that whilst life had presented challenges, she had chosen to perform that day.
Ms Young had been scheduled to perform at multiple venues across England and Scotland throughout October, with additional dates planned for the United States, Mexico and Canada in November and December. Further performances in South America and Europe were booked for 2026.
Despite the current setback, Ms Young’s career has seen significant achievements recently. She released her third album I’m Only F**king Myself last month and received a nomination for best pop video at the 2025 UK Music Video Awards for One Thing.
The artist has achieved three UK top 40 singles and secured one top ten album, whilst also winning The Ivors rising star award earlier this year.
