Stephen A. Smith’s Shocking Rant on ICE Agent Fatally Shooting Minnesota Woman Explodes into Massive Controversy [VIDEO]
ESPN pundit Stephen A. Smith continues to dip his toes into politics. The controversial pundit isn’t pivoting away from sports but trying to grasp an even wider platform.
Just like he’s done with sports, he hasn’t been afraid to fire bold takes left and right. This time, however, it’s nothing like saying that the OKC Thunder’s dominance would ‘ruin’ the NBA. It was a little more delicate.
In the latest edition of his podcast, Smith claimed that the ICE agent who shot Renee Nicole Good dead was ‘completely justified.’ He’s talking, of course, from a legal standpoint, as she appeared to drive her car towards the officers.

I saw the video on numerous occasions, and seeing what transpired from a lawful perspective, as it pertains to a law enforcement official, don’t expect him to be prosecuted. He was completely justified,” Smith said.
Then again, Stephen A. Smith also believes the officer could’ve taken a different approach. He claimed he could’ve just shot the tires of the vehicle, as opposed to the 37-year-old mother, who was shot in the face multiple times:
“From a humanitarian perspective, however, why did you have to do that? If you could move out the way, that means you could have shot the tires. That means you could have got a few feet away after you shot the tyres and if you were unsuccessful at doing that you could have got her down the road,” Smith added.
“She wasn’t driving down the road, coming at you 90 miles an hour, she was parked in the middle of the street. Rather than get out the car, she wrongfully tried to drive off. And wrongfully disregarded a law enforcement official because that it was ICE is and as a result, lost her life because of it.”

Those comments will certainly spark a significant amount of backlash and debate on social media.
Smith has never been the one to mince his words about anything. And while he hasn’t followed the usual path to the Oval Office, he’s rumored as a potential candidate for the Democratic Party in the upcoming primary elections.
What seemed to be a joke at first actually earned some traction. As one of the main faces of ESPN and Disney, the renowned pundit has now expanded his platform to political commentary and even acting.
Smith hasn’t ruled out running for office if the opportunity presents itself at some point down the road. With that in mind, these types of comments might be just him testing the water to determine the public’s reaction.
