Stefon Diggs Finally Breaks His Silence Following Shocking Felony Charges [VIDEO]

Diggs is facing serious criminal charges. The Pro Bowler has been accused of striking and choking a woman who worked as his personal chef and lived at his house.

The 32-year-old has denied the allegations and did not speak to the media earlier in the week. He broke his silence on the charges on Friday, however.

Diggs began by apologizing for being unavailable on Wednesday, also noting that he would not be able to discuss the case but would be willing to answer any questions related to football.

“It’s definitely an open case, so I can’t even say anything about it,” he said.

Diggs is facing a felony criminal charge of strangulation or suffocation. He’s also been hit with a misdemeanor assault and battery charge. As mentioned above, the charges stem from an incident involving his personal chef.

The woman alleges that Diggs attacked her after she confronted him about unpaid wages.

New England Patriots Supporting Stefon Diggs

The Patriots released a statement shortly after the news broke, showing their support for the wideout.

“Stefon has informed the organization that he categorically denies the allegations. We support Stefon. We will continue to gather information and will cooperate fully with the appropriate authorities and the NFL as necessary.”

“Out of respect for all parties involved, and given that this is an ongoing legal matter, we will have no further comment at this time,” they added.

The NFL also released a statement.

Diggs and teammate Christian Barmore, who has also been accused of assault ahead of the playoffs, are both still eligible to play.

“I’m getting ready for Miami and to play football,” Barmore told reporters after being asked how he was doing.

The Patriots will play the Miami Dolphins in the final game of the regular season, with the AFC’s top seed still a possibility based on other results.
