“One Of The Worst Humans I’ve Been Around” – Former LSU Tigers Star Exposes Brian Kelly After His Firing

A former LSU Tigers football star called out Brian Kelly in a scathing message on X/Twitter after the latter was handed his walking papers.

Following a loss to No. 3 ranked Texas A&M on Saturday, the Tigers decided to fire Brian Kelly despite having six years remaining on his 10-year contract. According to multiple reports, his buyout could be as high as $54 million.

Kelly’s turbulent tenure at LSU ends with a 34-14-0 record. They won the Citrus Bowl in the 2022 season, his first year at the helm, and ReliaQuest Bowl and Texas Bowl victories in 2023 and 2024, respectively.

Former LSU safety Matthew Langlois, who retired last year due to numerous injuries, made a shocking allegation against Brian Kelly in an “X” post that has since been deleted. In the post, Langlois claimed that Kelly forced him to medically retire:

Here’s what he wrote, per Griffin McVeigh of On3.com:

“I was FORCED to medically retire before I could get a 2nd or 3rd opinion. When I was playing very well before my injury, I’d hear from Coach Kelly quite often. The second I got injured, not a word since. Genuinely one of the worst humans I’ve been around, ever.”

Injuries, including an ACL tear, limited Matthew Langlois to 11 games over his three playing seasons at LSU.

After firing Brian Kelly, the Tigers named associate and running backs head coach Frank Wilson their interim HC. Wilson previously coached the UTSA Roadrunners from 2016 to 2019 and the McNeese State Cowboys from 2020 to 2021.

Wilson was previously an assistant at LSU from 2010 to 2015, before landing his first head coaching position at UTSA. The Tigers brought Wilson back after hiring Kelly, who replaced national championship-winning head coach Ed Orgeron.

Of course, Wilson is going to have to do a near-perfect job the rest of this season if he’s to have the interim tag removed. LSU is one of the nation’s marquee college football programs, and they’ll surely have a long list of big-name candidates to interview.

For now, the Tigers have to turn the page and focus on finishing the year strong. They’re on a bye this week and will visit No. 4 ranked Alabama on Nov. 8.
