NFL fans were very displeased after a moment of silence for Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland was disturbed by a few others yelling obscenities on Thursday night.

The Denver Broncos paid tribute to the fallen player at their Empower Stadium on the Mile High ahead of their ‘Thursday Night Football’ outing vs. the Las Vegas Raiders.

While most of the stadium observed the moment and treated it with reverence, there were a few hecklers, and folks watching the Prime Video presentation were not happy.

“People in the crowd yelling “F you” during a moment of silence is ridiculous,” one wrote.

“NFL need to start kicking people out screaming obscenities during moments of silence. Who does that? & WHY? Tf wrong with this country?” asked another.

Marshawn Kneeland’s death was announced on Thursday morning, with the Cowboys putting out a statement followed by one from his agent.

Several Cowboys players reacted to the news on social media, while Dak Prescott delivered a powerful statement at a ceremony held in his honor at his old high school.

Micah Parsons, who spent a season with Kneeland in Dallas, also shared a reaction.

The former Western Michigan star was found dead after evading Texas State troopers late on Wednesday night. Police said he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound; his girlfriend told the authorities he had texted family members to say goodbye and said he would “end it all.”

Kneeland was only 24.

According to his girlfriend, he had a history of mental health issues.

The tributes didn’t stop with the NFL. The Dallas Stars also held a moment of silence for him before their game against the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday night.
