The search for former Union High School football coach Travis Turner has lasted three months. He remains a missing person and a fugitive from justice. The former head football coach at Union High School vanished on November 20, 2025. It came just before law enforcement authorities were set to question him regarding serious, newly filed felony charges.

He was reportedly seen walking into a wooded, mountainous area behind his home, carrying a firearm. That was the last time anyone had set eyes on him. Shortly after his disappearance, warrants for his arrest were issued. He was hit with five counts of possession of child pornography and five counts of using a computer to solicit a minor.

It was clear that he was running away from these accusations. The U.S. Marshals Service, Virginia State Police, and FBI have been involved in the search. However, nothing has turned up, and nobody has seen him since November.

Former Union High School head football coach Travis Turner has been missing for three months after vanishing from his home in Appalachia. Turner is wanted on five counts of possession of child pornography and five counts of using a computer to solicit a minor.

As the hunt for the disgraced football coach enters its fourth month, the family of his alleged victim has come forward and revealed more details to The US Sun.

Turner’s charges stem from text and picture exchanges between him and a 16-year-old girl at the school. He is alleged to have exposed himself in the pictures during an exchange. A family insider said school officials became aware of the texts after overhearing the victim discussing them in the library.

The girl’s family informed the publication that they are furious with Union High School principal Jerred Chandler. They said their daughter was interviewed about the texts, and that the school never called them to discuss the matter.

“It all happened very quickly,” said the source. “First came the accusation, then the police became involved. Then Turner went missing. It was overwhelming.”

“From my perspective, most of the anger was directed at him,” added the insider.

“He’s a married teacher with three children. He should have known better. “I’m also very upset with how the school handled it and their failure to report it properly.”

The family says it approached the school to demand an explanation for why it had not been contacted. However, officials refused to answer. They further added that there has been no official school investigation. That is because Chandler suggested that Travis Turner had been tricked into communicating with someone pretending to be someone else.

Two days after the alleged meeting, Turner had vanished, the family claimed.
