Jaxson Dart’s Dad Drops Bombshell: Reveals Popular College Football Coach Texted Him About Giants Head Coaching Job

This time next season, Jaxson Dart could be following orders from a new head coach.

The Giants hired the 49-year-old Brian Daboll following an impressive four-year tenure as offensive coordinator of the Buffalo Bills. It has not worked out for him or the organization.

One of the more upsetting scenes happened last month when cameras caught the Giants’ head coach screaming at the team doctor when rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart got banged up and had to be evaluated for a concussion in the medical tent.

It should always be player safety first, but in that moment, he only cared about winning a game. Daboll was fined $100,000 for violating the NFL’s concussion protocol, along with the Giants organization for $200,000, and rookie Cam Skattebo for $15,000.

Now, his time might be running out.

The New York Giants are 2-7 for the third season in a row, and Brian Daboll might be on his way out. He can see the future in Jaxson Dart, but he may not be around much longer to see it pan out.

With Daboll only under contract through next year, the Giants are in the midst of another losing season, and the college coaching carousel has brought up a new name to replace Daboll.

Dart’s dad, Brandon, said he texted Kiffin personally in “our Kiffin-Dart family text thread.”

“I think [New York radio host] Boomer Esiason had said something in the media today that maybe they should throw out a potential coaching (offer) to Kiffin, and he just sent it over with a smirk and just said, ‘It’s too cold in New York for me.’ It’s just kind of funny,” the elder Dart told the “Bleav in Ole Miss” podcast.

“But we have our weekly interactions with him and his family, and Jaxson holds him in high regard. I think Kiffin is one of his most trusted allies, and I think he uses him for advice in a lot of different ways.

“So, there’s constant communication between them, even today, and there’s a lot of that between our families. I don’t think we could have asked for a more special coach relationship between our family and our son. So, we’re very, very grateful for coach Kiff.”

With the Giants headed to another lost season and a third straight losing campaign in four years, it’s just a matter of time before Daboll is coaching his final games with the franchise.

The idea of Kiffin might be appealing since the Giants would be pairing their young quarterback with a successful coach whom he and his family think highly of and who helped him become the talent he is today.
