Jake Paul Makes ‘Major’ Announcement to Make Anthony Joshua Fight ‘Fair’

The American YouTuber is set to fight former unified heavyweight champion Joshua in Miami.

Jake Paul has called for a ‘fair fight’ in a ‘major’ announcement ahead of his highly-anticipated fight with Anthony Joshua.

On December 19, influencer turned professional boxer Paul will step into the ring against former unified heavyweight champion Joshua in what will certainly be the hardest challenge of his career.

Paul was originally scheduled to face lightweight world champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis on November 14, but the fight was cancelled after Davis was accused of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress by his ex-partner.

Just days away from the fight with Joshua, Paul fuelled rumours that the fight could be off as he confirmed he would be making a ‘major’ announcement shortly after footage emerged showing an injury he had sustained in sparring.

And now, the details of Paul’s announcement have been revealed, as the 28-year-old called for the bout with Joshua to be a ‘fair fight’.

Paul v Joshua is set to take place at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida over eight three-minute rounds with the fighters set to use 10oz gloves.

Shortly after the fight was confirmed, Paul announced the undercard, with a bout between UFC legends Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley, who have both lost to Paul, featuring.

But that’s not all, as Paul has now announced that world champion Caroline Dubois, the younger sister of Daniel Dubois, will also fight on the undercard having signed a new contract with MVP.

Announcing the deal with a video on social media, Paul wrote: “All I want is a fair fight. Even the odds. Joshua brought in Usyk. So only right I bring in Dubois. Had to be done.”

In another post, Paul added: “You dummies thought I was going to pull out of the fight? Ridiculous.

“I’m just building. 5 years in. Creating a roster of the best. Welcome to MVP Miss Dubois.”

The announcement comes after Joshua suffered a devastating knockout loss to fellow British heavyweight Daniel Dubois in September 2024.

“Sweet” Caroline Dubois represented Team GB in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and is now the WBC lightweight world champion.

She boasts an undefeated professional record with 11 wins, five KOs and one no contest, and will defend her lightweight belt against Italy’s Camila Panatta on the Paul v Joshua undercard.

“Signing with MVP is the next step in my career, I’m proud to be under their roster, and I believe they will be able to help me on my quest for greatness,” Dubois said in a statement.

“The mission must be to become the face of women’s boxing.”
