Demond Williams Jr. Lands in Hot Water as His Agent Picks Jedd Fisch Over Him

Doug Hendrickson dropped Demond Williams Jr. as a client Wednesday, citing philosophical differences amid the quarterback’s transfer portal controversy.

When your agent fires you, the game becomes interesting. Demond Williams Jr. learned that lesson on Wednesday when Doug Hendrickson pulled the plug on their relationship.

The Wasserman Football president posted a short memo on X announcing the split. He wished Williams well but made it clear they were done working together. The problem? Hendrickson also represents Washington coach Jedd Fisch, and Williams had just tried to ditch the Huskies days after signing a $4 million deal.

Hendrickson wrote that he ended representation “due to philosophical differences” before calling Williams an incredible talent. Attorney Darren Heitner jumped in shortly after, announcing he’d taken on Williams but offering no public comment. The whole mess started on Jan. 2, when Williams signed his contract, then reversed course on Tuesday night with an Instagram post about entering the portal.

Fans on X immediately connected the dots.

One saw Williams’ path narrowing. “Not great for Demond, this was a slippery slope and the agent cut ties! Looks like Demond will be in a Washington uniform”

Another translated the corporate speak. “Philosophical differences in football usually means money, minutes, or madness. Sometimes all three.”

A third viewed it as a sacrifice. “This is Wasserman passing up a percentage on a 6 million dollar contract to pretend like the have morals and a heart, Demond is the sacrificial lamb on this one”

One couldn’t believe the speed. “Philosophical differences already, this transfer portal era is getting wilder every day”

This fan sensed trouble. “Damn! This ain’t good”

Another captured the rarity. “Damn it’s wild when an agent drops the player”

One went after Williams directly. “Guy is nuking his career before it even starts. What a foolish, selfish decision. Is the multiple millions you’re making and signed on for days ago not enough?”

And this user nailed the moment. “You know how bad you gotta fuck up for your agent to fire you?”

Getting dropped by representation might hurt worse than any sack Williams took last season.

Yahoo Sports reported Williams signed a one-year revenue-sharing agreement worth approximately $4 million. The contract utilizes a Big Ten template that bars portal entry once signed and prevents NIL rights from being transferred to another program.

Washington refused to submit Williams’ name to the portal, effectively freezing him in place. Big Ten commissioner Tony Petitti got involved, and the conference is backing the Huskies. Washington suspects tampering and plans to submit evidence. LSU remains the school most closely linked to Williams, should this somehow work out in his favor.
