Tom Brady has turned many people off.

Dave Portnoy isn’t having Tom Brady’s Super Bowl claim following a surprising revelation from the former star quarterback.

Brady isn’t in a good place with Patriots fans right now. The seven-time Super Bowl winner won six of his rings with the Pats. He was supposed to be a Patriot for life.

However, he hasn’t offered them his support ahead of the Super Bowl, at least not publicly.

The 48-year-old said he had no dog in the fight on his ‘Let’s Go!’ podcast this week(H/T NFL.com), turning plenty of people off.

“I don’t have a dog in the fight in this one. May the best team win,” Brady said. “And in terms of the Patriots, this is a new chapter in New England, and I’m glad everyone’s embraced the Mike Vrabel regime, all the amazing players that have worked so hard to get their club to this position. We did it for 20 years. There was a little bit of a hiatus in there, but the Patriots are back and it’s a very exciting time for everyone in New England.”

This one came as a surprise, especially given that his former teammate, Mike Vrabel, whom he won three Super Bowls alongside, is coaching the Patriots.

One insider even suggested that Brady wants his former team to lose.

Portnoy was among those who lashed out.

“This is for Patriots fans eyes only. I don’t want to leave anything unsaid before the Super Bowl,” the Barstool Sports owner wrote in a tweet. “So I’m just gonna say this and move on.”

He went on to say:

“I think it’s bulls**t Tom Brady said he has no dog in the fight for the Super Bowl. It’s pretty obvious he doesn’t give a s**t about us anymore so maybe we shouldn’t care about him either.  Maybe it was just professional and that’s fine.”

In addition to his role as a broadcaster at FOX, Brady is a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. While he could be forgiven for refusing to back another team ahead of the Super Bowl, he has many connections in New England.

And, given that they’ve already made it as far as they have, no one would hold it against him if he said he favored the Patriots. Everyone already assumed he did anyway.
