Chiefs HC Andy Reid Is Being Accused Of “Throwing Patrick Mahomes Under The Bus” After Loss To Broncos [VIDEO]

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has been accused of taking a dig at his quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, following their loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

It appears the Chiefs are finally beginning to crack, as they have hardly shown signs of recovery since their Super Bowl defeat in February.

KC suffered a 22-19 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday, dropping to 5-5. And they’re now thought to be in danger of missing the playoffs, which would mark a monumental crash for a team of their status.

The Chiefs weren’t all that keen on running the ball against Denver, especially with Isiah Pacheco out, something Reid acknowledged in a recent interview with reporters. The head coach, whom fans thought they spotted on a new Most Wanted Fugitives list, claimed that he called runs, but they turned into passes.

“The runs are being called,” he said. “It’s just sometimes they get turned into passes in today’s world. That’s how it goes, but we’re getting them in.”

Fans perceived Reid’s comments as the coach throwing his QB under the bus.

“If you’re going to start throwing Mahomes under the bus then it’s time for you to go. RPO’s aren’t run plays,” one X user shared.

“So now it’s all on Mahomes? Hunt wasn’t on the field most of the 2d half….” said another.

“so mahomes is making the wrong reads lol, color me shocked,” a fan commented.

“Ughhh? Throwing 15 under the bus today wasn’t on my bingo card. JF,” one added.

One fan defended Reid, suggesting that this wasn’t a slight at Mahomes.

“All he’s saying is that he calls more runs than the stats say (13 for Kareem) it’s just some get thrown. Historically the throws are very efficient because they’re only throw  if the look is there. Y’all need to chill this is in no way a dig at Pat,”

For his part, the quarterback took responsibility for the loss on Sunday.

“We haven’t been consistent enough to win games. It starts with me,” he said.

The Chiefs are set for another tough opponent in Week 12, with the Indianapolis Colts next on their schedule. If there were ever a need for a bounce-back performance, it would be on Sunday.
