Josh Allen has a reputation as one of the NFL’s ultimate good guys, but even he isn’t immune from the league’s strict rulebook.

Per ESPN’s Alaina Getzenberg, the NFL has fined both Josh Allen and teammate Elijah Moore were each fined for a “violent gesture” during a touchdown celebration in Sunday’s 28-21 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Allen and Moore each committed a “finger gun” celebration after the former’s rushing touchdown in the third quarter. Allen was fined $14,491, while Moore was issued a $13,888 fine.

Here’s the celebration that led to the fines:

In August, the NFL sent a warning to teams that they were cracking down on unsportsmanlike acts, such as the “throat slash” and “nose wipe” gestures. So Allen and Moore can’t say they weren’t given a notice ahead of time.

Allen held off Lamar Jackson to win the NFL MVP last season, throwing for 28 touchdowns and only six interceptions to go along with 531 rushing yards and 12 rushing scores. And while it’s hard for MVP winners to sustain their success the following year, Allen hasn’t missed a beat this year.

The 29-year-old is off to another strong this season, completing 70.4 percent of his pass attempts (a career high) for 1,833 yards, 13 touchdowns and only four interceptions to go along with seven rushing touchdowns, per Pro Football Reference.

Of course, the bar has grown in Buffalo to the point where it’s Super Bowl or bust every year.
