Major Report Emerges On Packers Possibly Firing Matt LaFleur After Disastrous Collapse vs. Bears, Including Who Might Replace Him

Schefter also brought up a big name if Green Bay decides to make a change. He mentioned longtime Ravens coach John Harbaugh as a possible option. Baltimore recently ended its 18-year run with Harbaugh, which was also surprising.

Schefter explained why Green Bay fits. “If they moved on from him, he automatically would go near the top of the coaches available and shake up this current head coaching cycle yet again,” Schefter said. He also noted, “Well, the Packers’ former president back in the day was a man by the name of Bob Harlan. Bob Harlan’s son, Brian Harlan, represents John Harbaugh.”

Schefter added more context. Harbaugh has Midwestern roots. He owns a home in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. “A lot of people around the league have been wondering if the Packers decide to go in a different direction, if all of a sudden the Green Bay Packers might vault to the top of John Harbaugh’s list,” Schefter said.

LaFleur still has a strong regular-season record. He is 76-40-1 since taking over in 2019 and has made the playoffs in every season except 2022. He also led the Packers to NFC title games in 2019 and 2020 with Aaron Rodgers.

But recent results have raised concerns. Green Bay has not reached the NFC Championship Game since then. The team has lost in the Wild Card round for two consecutive years. The loss to the Bears only increased the pressure.
