Bad Bunny, a three-time Grammy Award winner, is the most-streamed artist in the world, and now his legendary status will only get bigger as he is slated to perform the Super Bowl LX halftime show.

The announcement was made on Sunday night at halftime of the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys game.

Bunny, whose real name is Benito Martínez Ocasio, has been one of the top recording artists for over a decade. In that time period, the Puerto Rican superstar has nabbed Grammy Awards for Best Latin Pop or Urban Album for “YHLQMDLG” and Best Música Urbana Album for “El Último Tour Del Mundo” and “Un Verano Sin Ti.”

Just as with any good news, there is always some bad news to go with it.

The Puerto Rican superstar skipped a USA tour over immigration raid concerns that could possibly affect his fan base. He previously stated he and his team were ‘very concerned’ that ICE agents might target his performances.

In an interview with i-D magazine earlier this month, Bad Bunny was asked whether he was skipping the US “out of concern about the [mass deportations of] Latinos.”

“Man, honestly, yes,” the three-time Grammy-winning musician responded. “There were many reasons why I didn’t show up in the US, and none of them were out of hate – I’ve performed there many times. All of [the shows] have been successful. All of them have been magnificent.”

“But there was the issue of – like, f–king Ice could be outside [my concert],” he told i-D. “And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.”

Will Bad Bunny Only Sing Songs In Spanish During Halftime Show?

Bad Bunny will perform as the halftime show during Super Bowl LX. But what does this mean for the American viewer?

The 31-year-old global superstar can certainly speak English, but the majority of his songs are in a different language. Not to mention, he purposely chose to skip USA dates on his current world tour due to concerns over ICE raids.

Social media users expressed concerns about Bad Bunny’s limited English-language songs.

Despite what people may think, Bunny will be on stage, and millions will find out in real time whether he plans to sing any songs in English.

For a person of his stature, he might break many records, just as Kendrick Lamar did last year.

His performance on February 8, 2026, will mark his debut at one of American television’s most-watched annual events.
