Actress Annabel Schofield, who’s best known for modeling and starring on the hit primetime soap opera Dallas, has died at the age of 62.
The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Annabel died on February 28 in Los Angeles, California. Before becoming television famous, she found much success as a model, and was a prominent face a part of the hip, street-forward 1980s fashion scene in London.
“I honestly think London as far as cutting edge style, due to the New Romantics, the tail end of Punk, Vivienne Westood, Katherine Hamnett, Body Map, Buffalo style which was created by Ray Petrie and all the resulting street styles,” Annabel said during a 2012 interview for the Mirror80 website.

During her modeling days, London’s Take Two Agency represented her, and under the agency, she appeared on hundreds of fashion magazine covers. She also starred in major designer and brand campaigns for popular companies, including Yves Saint Laurent, Rimmel, Revlon, and Boots No. 7.
Annabel landed international recognition after her attention-grabbing appearance in a Bugle Boy Jeans television commercial. In the commercial, she famously delivered the line, “Excuse me, are those Bugle Boy jeans you’re wearing?” as she drove through the desert in a black Ferrari sports car.

Annabel found fame as a model before starring on the hit show Dallas
Ex owner of London’s Take Two agency, Melissa Richardson, has spoken on the late small screen star, sharing how much she was “loved” in a statement THR obtained.
“She was one of David Bailey’s favorites and appeared in countless shoots for Italian Vogue. She was the forerunner of Take Two — without her, we could never have made it as we did. We loved her because she was funny and real and beautiful and down to earth,” Melissa explained. “She never changed from the sweet little 17-year-old Welsh girl I first met. She was directly loyal, caring, and above all, a raging beauty. She knew her craft. She was the best.”

Annabel went on to have roles in other productions outside of Dallas
While her biggest and most notable role might’ve been as the sassy character Laurel Ellis on Dallas, she has many more other film credits on her resume, such as Alex Noffee in Solar Crisis.
Additionally, she acted in Dragonard and Eye of the Widow before she later moved behind the camera toward the production side for The Brothers Grimm, Doom and City of Ember.
Since news broke of her death, her fans have been mourning her on social media, with one writing on X (formerly known as Twitter), “Rest in peace, Annabel Schofield. Fans of Dallas will remember Annabel as Laurel Ellis in 1988.”
