Makena White wanted her “VERY PRIVΛTE” romance with PGA Tour pro and boyfriend Jake Knapp to stay that way, but she ended up getting caught at the 2024 Mexico Open.
The girlfriend of golf pro Jake Knap recalled two past instances involving their relationship that she didn’t see coming, breaking down the unexpected experiences on her X account on Monday.
White’s confessions came in response to a prompt teed up by the PGA Tour’s official X account.
“Share a piece of golf lore about yourself,” read the post, which was alongside a black-and-white doodle of a person gazing at a golf ball.
“My (previously VERY PRIVΛTE) relationship was hard launched on national television at the 2024 Mexico Open,” she began on X.
“A year later, I got outed playing hooky from work on a Thursday cause that same bf shot 59 & photos of us cellying were all over the internet.
“2 years of getting sewered.”
The 31-year-old Knapp earned his first PGA Tour victory as a rookie in February 2024 at the Mexico Open, where Makena White joined him on the course at Vidanta Vallarta for the sweet celebrations.
White and Knapp were linked in mid-2023.
White and Knapp had been dating for six months at the time. She flew in from Canada for the final round.
After Knapp won, the PGA Tour account on X posted a clip of Makena White’s reaction.
“This would be so sweet,” she said as Knapp prepared for his final putt.

Knapp has been open about White on his Instagram since their relationship became public.
Makena has nearly 10,000 followers on X and another 11,000 on Instagram. Those numbers could surely be much higher if she did not have both of them set to private.
