Austin Metcalf’s father, Jeff Metcalf, has broken his silence since getting kicked out of a press conference held by Karmelo Anthony’s family last week.
Anthony is out on bail following his arrest for Austin’s 𝘔𝘶𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳, and his family spoke to reporters this past Thursday with claims that they plan to fight the first-degree 𝘔𝘶𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳 charge stemming from Austin’s d3ath earlier this month.
Karmelo’s mother, Kala Hayes, also claimed that her family has endured false accusations and lies that have put them in danger.
As for Jeff, he was escorted out after showing up to the conference and has said he feels “disrespected” because he wanted the families to pray together and present a united front.
“They should have pulled me up [to the front] and said, ‘We are so sorry. Our condolences.’ The only thing I would have said was, ‘Okay, can we pray together and show the world we’re united’,” he told the New York Post.

Austin Metcalf’s parents also revealed they were victims of swatting pranks, with police showing up at their home following calls from outsiders bent on creating troubleJeff. Jeff said he has also had to resign from his real estate job to protect his colleagues and clients.
He added that he had hoped Karmelo Anthony’s family would apologize to him and his family, but he was instead asked to leave.
“This is my point: We’re both victims. My son’s d3ad. Their son will be in prison,” he remarked. “But it’s the end of the day, [Karmelo] needs to be accountable for his actions.”
