Detroit Lions legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Barry Sanders was asked for his pick of the greatest running back in NFL history, and his choice will surprise you.

With four rushing titles, 10 Pro Bowl selections, 1997 MVP honors and the fourth-most rushing yards in NFL history (15,269) Sanders certainly has a strong case as the running back GOAT.

If Barry Sanders hadn’t retired early, he could be the one standing atop the career rushing yards and rushing touchdowns leaderboard over Emmitt Smith.

During an appearance on NBC’s “The Today Show”, Sanders was asked to share his pick for the best running back ever. Needless to say, the Lions icon didn’t waste a second to share his answer.

“I’ll go with Walter (Payton),” Sanders said. “I’ll go Walter, or Jim (Brown).”

Payton spent his entire 13-year career with the Chicago Bears, leading them to a Super Bowl championship in 1985. The nine-time Pro Bowler is second in career rushing yards (16,726) and fifth in rushing touchdowns (110). Only Emmitt Smith (18,355) has more yards, but it’s worth noting that he played 36 more games than Payton.

Two months ago, Barry Sanders revealed he suffered a heart attack last year while on a recruiting visit for his son. Thankfully, Sanders made a full recovery and is healthy again.

Though Smith has the rushing records, Cleveland Browns legend Jim Brown is the consensus choice for the best RB ever. But if you want to go by a player’s explosiveness and independent ability to take over a game, there’s a case to be made that Sanders is the best to ever line up in the backfield.

Brittney Griner Finally Breaks Her Silence Over Alleged Caitlin Clark Comments That The WNBA Refused To Investigate

WNBA star Brittney Griner was at the center of a new debate over what she allegedly said in a game against basketball phenom Caitlin Clark.

The Atlanta Dream center found herself at the center of social media controversy last month when some fans thought she disparaged Indiana Fever star guard Caitlin Clark upon fouling out.

The game’s broadcast focused on an upset Griner saying something as she returned to the Dream bench after fouling out of the game. While there’s no audio of this moment, some who tried to read Griner’s lips thought she called Clark a “trash f–king white girl.”

However, there’s no proof of Griner saying those actual words since others thought she stated something else.

It took weeks for someone to finally get a quote from her, and she provided much of nothing.

Brittney Griner was asked about this moment before her team’s June 15 game against the Washington Mystics and said, “I remember fouling out, being mad. I remember fouling out on, I believe it was [Natasha] Howard driving to the basket. They said I put my hand in.”

Moments before the conclusion of the Indiana Fever’s 81-76 victory over the Dream at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta weeks ago, cameras seemingly caught Atlanta Dream star center Brittney Griner labeling Caitlin Clark “trash” before calling her a “f***ing white girl” in frustration over a foul on Natasha Howard.

The clip of Griner speaking on the bench, lacking context, spread on social media and went viral.

Griner, who won a gold medal for Team USA at the Summer Olympics in Paris in 2024, essentially got aw@y with whatever came out of her mouth because the league basically ignored the controversy.

This incident is not the only time Griner vocalized her frustrations this season. Following another game, she stormed off mid-interview, yelling at the referees to “be f—ing better.

At family dinner, my mother-in-law suddenly screamed that her $10,000 was missing. Before I could react, my sister-in-law pointed straight at me. “It was her! I saw her sneaking into Mom’s room!” she shouted. In an instant, my MIL grabbed a baseball bat and ordered me to confess. “I didn’t take—” I tried to explain, but the bat was already swinging—aimed directly at me and my 4-year-old daughter. Instinct kicked in; I wrapped my arms around her as my MIL roared, “Where’s my money?!” At that exact moment, the front door slammed open—my husband had just walked in.

When the door swung open, I thought I had simply come home a little early. But then everything collapsed around me: my mother lay on the floor, blood seeping from the corner of her mouth… and the phone beside her showed only one final message—my father on a yacht, hand in hand with a woman I had never seen before. In that moment, I understood that the secrets in my family were far darker than anything I had ever imagined.

In front of 52 family members, my mom held up her glass, gestured to my sister, and said proudly, “This is the daughter who’s always been there for us. The other one? She’s never done anything.” I stayed silent. No one knew that I was the daughter who’d been paying their mortgage and bills for nearly a decade. So I simply smiled, set my drink down, and walked out of the reunion. The next morning, my phone screen lit up—38 missed calls waiting for me.

The Burtons’ annual family reunion was always loud, chaotic, and soaked in cheap champagne, but…
