Erik Spoelstra’s Ex-Wife Nikki Spoelstra Fires Back at ‘Thirst Trap’ Accusations After Viral Bikini Photos

Nikki Spoelstra, the ex-wife of Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra, is making headlines for more than just her connection to the NBA. Earlier this month, Nikki sent social media into a frenzy after posting a trio of sun-soaked photos on Instagram as the Miami Heat faced elimination in the first round of the playoffs.

The first photo showed Nikki reclining in the sun, flaunting her toned physique in a black two-piece bikini that left little to the imagination. Her washboard abs and confident pose instantly drew attention, with fans and followers speculating that she was not only trolling the Heat and her famous ex-husband, but also sending out “thirst traps.”

The third photo in her carousel showed Nikki sitting up, adjusting her bikini bottoms for an even better look—fueling further speculation online.

This week, Nikki decided to address the rumors head-on. Taking to Instagram once again, she posted a series of photos in workout gear, showing off her fit figure from multiple angles, followed by a close-up video. But it was her caption that stole the show.

“Knock it off with the ‘thirst trap’ narrative guys, I’m not here for it. I’m 37 years old, and I’ve had THREE babies. I was a dancer my whole life, turned pro, taught dance up until I had those kids,” Nikki wrote. “Into fitness and fashion/style IN ADDITION to all the healing things.”

She added with a wink:
“And… if you really wanna see me in an alleged ‘thirst trap,’ check out the Miami Heat dancers posters from 2005-2008 and let me know if the trap was, um… Trappin. I have a sneaky suspicion that it was, indeed.”

Nikki’s bold response quickly went viral, with fans applauding her confidence and calling out the double standards often faced by women online. Many praised her for embracing her body and shutting down the “thirst trap” narrative once and for all.

As for Erik Spoelstra and the Miami Heat? The team’s playoff run may have ended, but Nikki Spoelstra is clearly winning in her own way—proving that confidence and self-love are always in style.

The Miami Heat would end up being eliminated in the first round.

Nikki Spoelstra Fired Back At Trolls Over Erik Spoelstra’s Lucrative Contract Extension

Nikki Spoelstra, the ex-wife of Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra, had to fire back at trolls who claimed she dropped the ball for divorcing the two-time NBA champion before his lucrative contract extension.

Spoelstra and the Heat agreed to an eight-year extension, reportedly worth around $120 million, per ESPN.com. The new agreement came after he and Sapp announced they were divorcing.

Social media trolls immediately attacked Sapp, saying, “Way to fumble the bag.” She spoke out against critics on her Instagram Stories.

“Lol. I’m going to address this comment NOT as it pertains to my personal life choices but as it relates to a general thought process that I believe a lot of people have and that a lot of people have harassed me with over the years,” she wrote, according to the New York Post. “According to crass, ignorant, uninformed society at large, women can’t ‘win.’

“Women can’t be genuinely in love with someone successful. No, they’re pretending, and they’re in it for the money. And if a woman chooses to not be with a successful partner, apparently she’s an idiot.”

The couple announced their decision to divorce in a joint statement in November 2023.
