The thermometer is shooting up drastically as the Indiana Fever are hot! Getting the better of the Seattle Storm with a score of 78-74, the Fever has created history. They have now registered their longest winning streak in the WNBA, winning five straight games. And surprisingly, despite sitting out, Caitlin Clark is playing a major role in Fever’s transformation.
The Indiana Fever looked quite a lacklustre team prior to the All-Star break. But now, they are posing some serious challenges for the top championship contenders. Sitting at number five on the table with 17 wins and 12 losses, the team is on a roll. And Stephanie White recently detailed a unique reason for the stellar Fever show.
Stephanie White Drops Major Reason How Caitlin Clark Is Orchestrating Fever’s Unique Turnaround
With each passing game, the Fever is looking like a well-oiled machine. As their 23-year-old star is out with an injury, her teammates are ensuring that the momentum does not slip away. Surprisingly, Clark getting injured might have been a blessing in disguise for the team. Watching the game from outside, the former Hawkeyes’ star is having a comprehensive understanding of what needs to be fixed.
Speaking about the same, Fever coach White detailed how Clark is constantly taking notes. With her impeccable game reading, the 23-year-old has specific demands. And all of these combine to get a higher percentage of performance from her teammates.
“She demands so much gravity…she’s constantly seeing multiple players and she makes the right reads…everybody else will be able to get more high percentage looks bc of what she demands…and she brings her own defensive versatility bc of her length,” said White (Via X/nosyone4).
Surely, Clark getting sidelined due to injury has enabled the Fever to rediscover themselves in a new light. With the Rookie of the Year around, everybody wanted to find and revolve the game around her. But now, athletes like Aari McDonald, Aliyah Boston, and more are not afraid of making the big plays. And that is exactly what Stephanie White stressed in her latest byte.
How Is Caitlin Clark’s Absence Inspiring The Lot To Step Up: Stephanie White Answers
Speaking about her team, Stephanie White was all praises. Their last setback came when the New York Liberty beat them in consecutive games. White emphasized that Clark’s absence has pretty much turned out to be a blessing in disguise. She also praised her team for being unselfish.

“I said it early when C was out the very first time. While we don’t like it, sometimes it can be a blessing in disguise, because everybody else finds themselves. No one is afraid to make the big play offensively and defensively,” HC said in a postgame interview (Via X/@clrkszn).
Now, the Fever has surely made itself a strong contender for the playoffs. With the team already playing quite well, Clark’s addition will only bolster their chances. With a lot of buzz around, fans will now be looking to find out how the Indiana Fever approach their season next.
