EXCLUSIVE: Robert Irwin apologizes for T0pless Dancing With The Stars performance
Robert Irwin has apologized to his mom after putting on a racy display during his performance on Dancing With The Stars.
The 21-year-old, who is competing on the ABC show with pro dancer Witney Carson, left audience members swooning as he tore his shirt off during his dance this week.
Robert opened up about his decision to show his chest on DWTS during a post-show chat. It came as Lauren Jauregui spoke out about her shock elimination.
“We thought we’d take it easy on the costume department tonight,” Robert joked to ABC about his topless decision.
He added, “I said to Witney, ‘I want to bring out cool Robert.’ I was like, ‘He’s in there somewhere.’ I want to bring him out.” Robert then apologized to his family, who were watching in the audience.
His mom Terri, 61, and sister Bindi, 27, had watched the saucy routine live in the studio. “Sorry, guys, sorry about that,” Robert told his family.
Fans were loving Robert’s performance and were quick to comment on an Instagram clip of the dance.
“Steve may be his dad, but Robert is daddy,” one flustered fan wrote. Another commented, “Dare I say, he is the sexiest man on the cast this season.”
“He looked so good. I’m pretty sure my next-door neighbors heard my scream when he ripped off his shirt,” a third fan shared.
Someone else joked, “Are you gonna take your shift off next week too? I’m asking for a friend…” as a fifth person posted, “Whispering to myself …I’m old enough to be his mom…i’m old enough to be his mom.”
Robert took to the dance floor this week to perform a salsa with his partner. The pair danced to the viral 2024 Tommy Richman hit Million Dollar Baby for TikTok week.
Judge Carrie Ann was blown away by the performance, telling Robert, “Robert Irwin is all grown up, wow, you’re making me feel like a grandmother.”
She joked, “Put your shirt back on. Great performance.” Fellow judge Bruno Tonioli then compared Robert to Chris Hemsworth.

A STAGE TURNED SANCTUARY: In the middle of a roaring concert in front of 20,000 people, Blake Shelton stopped the music, put down his guitar, and did something unforgettable. He saw a sign held by a 6-year-old boy named Ethan, which read “Waiting for a new heart, but still want to sing.” In an act of pure grace, Blake knelt down and turned the entire show over to the child, saying softly, “Tonight, this stage belongs to you.” What followed was a moment that transcended music, as Blake’s powerful harmony became a shield for Ethan’s small, brave voice. The arena, lit by thousands of phones like a galaxy of hope, witnessed a superstar step back to let a true warrior shine, proving that the biggest heart in the room belonged to the smallest person.
