The popular singer recently faced rare backlash after postponing the first two shows of her Las Vegas residency at the last minute. Since then, rumors have increased that Kelly Clarkson will leave her talk show after one last season.
Who could replace Kelly Clarkson? According to a hot internet rumor, Hoda Kotb is the frontrunner. She co-hosted the fourth hour of The TODAY Show since 2007 until her unexpected exit in January.
Hoda Kotb gave conflicting responses when asked about the rumor that she’s replacing Kelly Clarkson. She told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that her stance was never say never.
But when asked about the rumor during an appearance on The TODAY Show in May, she said that if she did return to TV, it would only be on the NBC news show.

After Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos ended Kelly Clarkson’s streak last year, Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager think this is their year to win Outstanding Talk Series Host.
Kelly Clarkson, and the Live With Kelly and Mark hosts are up for Talk Series Host, as are Hoda and Jenna. Drew Barrymore and Jennifer Hudson round out the nominees.
Hoda Kotb recently face-timed Jenna Bush Hager during The TODAY Show to react to their nomination. “Let me tell you something, this is our last hurrah,” Hoda Kotb said.
She added, “This is happening. Kelly Clarkson, who is what I’d like to say.
The former TODAY host was quick to let the audience know that she was just joking. “I’m kidding. We love Kelly so much. We love her. But it’s our turn. As I’ve said to Jenna, we’re gonna go get her. G-I-T E-R.”
