She was recently asked by Entertainment Tonight if she would want to slow down her career soon.

When asked if she was thinking of winding down to enjoy life, she gave a very blunt and brutal response.

“Yeah, but who can afford to do that? You know if you don’t marry well, you gotta keep working,” she said.

The reporter then suggested that she could be someone who could afford not to work.

Whoopi replied, “No, not by now. Not yet.”

Later on in the interview, she added, “I’ve got to keep paying those bills, baby.”

Joy Behar, who was also part of the interview, then added, “Creative people don’t retire, they don’t resign, they just keep going.”

This comes after rampant speculation that Whoopi had “checked out of her job” earlier this year.

There were even claims that she would be dropped as The View’s moderator.

Back in March of this year, The View’s executive producers were said to be eager for Sunny Hostin to replace Whoopi, who had “checked out” of her job.

Multiple sources shared how Sunny is “being groomed to take over as the show’s lead moderator”.

The transition is even said to be underway, with the “writing on the wall”.

A senior show insider told Rob Shuter’s Substack: “The writing’s on the wall.

“The network knows The View needs a refresh — someone younger, more engaged, and more connected to the next generation. Sunny checks every box.”
