American Eagle’s “great jeans” advertising campaign with Sydney Sweeney has been at the center of the latest political firestorm online, drawing accusations of racial undertones in its messaging.

Sweeney, who rose to fame for her starring roles in HBO’s “Euphoria” and “The White Lotus,” is the star of the clothing retailer’s fall campaign, with the tagline, “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans.”

The whole purpose of the ad is to be a play on words, “Great genes.

Instead, she has taken a major hit from many who have accused American Eagle of playing to a white supremacist notion that the human race could be improved by breeding out less desirable traits.

“Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color. My genes are blue,” Sweeney says in one video.

Sweeney has remained silent throughout all of this drama.

Her family has not.

Sweeney’s brother Trent, who happens to be a member of the US Air Force, is the latest person to weigh in on the star’s controversial American Eagle ad, and it looks like her family sees the funny side of the recent controversy.

The 25-year-old posted a photo on his Instagram Stories of his official certification as he was promoted to staff sergeant, and jokingly wrote, “It’s them good jeans 🥸.”

Singer Lizzo has made a tongue-in-cheek reference to Sydney Sweeney’s jeans controversy.

The singer mocked Sweeney’s controversial American Eagle campaign with new song lyrics on Wednesday.

In a snippet of “I’m Goin’ In Till October,” shared via Instagram, the Grammy winner washed a car and twerked in denim shorts, a matching jacket, and black heels.

Sweeney wore an all-denim ensemble in her July ad, which social media users likened to “Nazi propaganda” for promoting the actress’s “good jeans.”

The 37-year-old Lizzo referenced this in her song, rapping, “Bitch, I got good jeans like I’m Sydney!”

Lizzo initially shaded Sydney Sweeney when she reposted a digitally altered meme that showed her posing in a similar outfit to the one the actress rocked in her ad.

The July upload was captioned, “If the Democrats won the election.”

Lizzo reposted the satirical photo, writing, “My jeans are black…”

Brittney Griner Finally Breaks Her Silence Over Alleged Caitlin Clark Comments That The WNBA Refused To Investigate

WNBA star Brittney Griner was at the center of a new debate over what she allegedly said in a game against basketball phenom Caitlin Clark.

The Atlanta Dream center found herself at the center of social media controversy last month when some fans thought she disparaged Indiana Fever star guard Caitlin Clark upon fouling out.

The game’s broadcast focused on an upset Griner saying something as she returned to the Dream bench after fouling out of the game. While there’s no audio of this moment, some who tried to read Griner’s lips thought she called Clark a “trash f–king white girl.”

However, there’s no proof of Griner saying those actual words since others thought she stated something else.

It took weeks for someone to finally get a quote from her, and she provided much of nothing.

Brittney Griner was asked about this moment before her team’s June 15 game against the Washington Mystics and said, “I remember fouling out, being mad. I remember fouling out on, I believe it was [Natasha] Howard driving to the basket. They said I put my hand in.”

Moments before the conclusion of the Indiana Fever’s 81-76 victory over the Dream at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta weeks ago, cameras seemingly caught Atlanta Dream star center Brittney Griner labeling Caitlin Clark “trash” before calling her a “f***ing white girl” in frustration over a foul on Natasha Howard.

The clip of Griner speaking on the bench, lacking context, spread on social media and went viral.

Griner, who won a gold medal for Team USA at the Summer Olympics in Paris in 2024, essentially got aw@y with whatever came out of her mouth because the league basically ignored the controversy.

This incident is not the only time Griner vocalized her frustrations this season. Following another game, she stormed off mid-interview, yelling at the referees to “be f—ing better.
