Al Roker Shares Heartbreaking News: ‘Both My Babies Are Gone’

Al Roker is half the man he used to be. He had gastric bypass in 2002 after weighing in at 340 pounds. He’s since lost over 100 pounds but he’s never lost his sense of humor. The weatherman is known to crack a joke that leaves his Today costars in stitches. He’s more than just the weatherman. His role has expanded on the talk show in recent years as part of news segments.

The talk show co-anchor has shared many aspects of his life with his fans. Al Roker loves to talk about his family, including his wife, Deborah Roberts, and his three children. He has a daughter, Courtney, from a previous marriage and his two children, Leila and Nicholas with Deborah Roberts.

Al Roker became a grandfather, or “pop-pop” in 2023 when his daughter Courtney welcomed a baby, Sky.

The Today host had the time of his life this summer with his son, Nicholas, and granddaughter visiting. But sadly, his nest is empty again.

“Well, both my babies are gone,” he wrote in a social media post. His son Nicholas headed back to college and his granddaughter went home to her parents. “A bittersweet Labor Day,” Al Roker said about the holiday weekend.

“Both your babies will have the memories and the love you give for a lifetime”

The comment section was flooded with comments about how beautiful Al Roker’s granddaughter Sky was.
