The suspenseful drama of Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black is coming back and ready to hit harder than it did for its second season. Ever since we’ve been hit with one of the best cliff-hangers of last season, we are now finally going to be spoiled as we embark on Kimmie’s journey as she becomes the newest member of the Bellarie family.

The Official Release Date

Beauty in Black is set to be exclusively released on Netflix on Thursday, September 11, 2025, and will be released in two parts.

After Kimmie agreed to marry Horace Bellarie, a literal new boss had made their way to town. Her intentions, motives, and next course of action will be the bread and butter of Season two. So, clear your calendars, as something big is approaching, and something even bigger is brewing.

What happened last Season?

The story began with our protagonist, Kimmie (played by Taylor Polidore Williams), who struggles in life, getting by while working as a stripper. Her life changed after an incident at an airport when a drug bust went wrong. This led to Kimmie and her best friend Rain (Amber Reign Smith) having their lives left in the hands of Jules (played by Charles Malik Whitfield), who offered them a life away from prison, in exchange for becoming sex workers for him.

Trapped with seemingly no escape in sight, Kimmie had no choice but to accept Jules’ offer. But after discovering a scholarship program sponsored by the powerful beauty entrepreneur Mallory (played by Crystle Stewart), Kimmie came up with a risky plan in order to gain her freedom. Little did she know, this would lead her into a rabbit hole she could never come back from.

What to Expect this Season?

A whole lot of plotting, backstabbing, blackmail, and more as we follow Kimmie in her journey to reach the top. In Season 2, we can expect more of Kimmie’s forward actions and a tougher demeanor. Tyler Perry once said in an interview, “Kimmie exemplifies the spirit of never underestimating the underdog, and I can’t wait for fans to continue to see her story unfold. If you thought Season 1 was a wild ride, you’re not ready for Season 2.” Assuring us we will witness more character growth from Kimmie and how she will thrive from where she once was.
